Content Policy

Talking, listening, and one honest line on the wall. Being tired, angry, lonely or lost is allowed here — saying so is the point. Nobody has to explain themselves, and nobody has to be cheerful.

• Encouraging self-harm or suicide, sharing methods, or pushing someone towards either. Saying you are struggling is welcome; telling someone how to hurt themselves is not.
• Harassment: pile-ons, threats, stalking a uThere across rooms, or unwanted sexual attention.
• Hate against people for who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexuality, age or origin.
• Anything sexual involving minors, in any form. This is reported to the authorities, always.
• Sexual content and graphic violence, which this is not the place for.
• Exposing people: real names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces or photos of someone who did not share them, including your own room's uTheres.
• Recording and re-sharing a voice room, or a private chat, outside it without the consent of the people in it.
• Impersonating another uThere, a moderator, or a support service.
• Spam, scams, selling, recruiting, link farms, and automated posting.
• Illegal content of any kind, or anything that breaks the law where you are.

Clips are ephemeral and die with the room. That is a promise to the people in it: do not record them, do not repost them, and do not bring what was said into another room. An AI recap or parody of a room only ever leaves it if everyone in it agrees.

Wall sprays, chat messages, room names and voice transcripts are screened automatically before they land, and any uThere can report anything they see. Self-harm screening is handled quietly and privately: the person who posted sees a crisis line, and one private notice goes to the room owner or to our moderators. Nothing is highlighted publicly and no other uThere is told.

• The content is removed, and you are told which rule it broke.
• A room may be closed, or a nickname kept out of it.
• Repeat or serious harm ends the account.
• Anything involving a child, or a credible threat to someone's life, goes to the authorities.

Every removal can be appealed from inside the app, and a person reads it. You can also write to moderation@uthere.app.

uThere? is not a crisis service and nobody here is on duty. If you or someone else is at immediate risk, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — the app will show you one, and you can set your country so it shows the right one.
